PREPARATORY COURSES

The following are English remedial/preparatory courses (0 credits) offered by Centre for Language Studies for undergraduates with MUET bands 3 and below.

PBI 0011 Preparatory English 1 (0 credit) [Coordinator: Ms. Melisa Malini]
Note: Undergraduates with MUET bands 1-2 are required to take the above course.

PBI 0021 Preparatory English 2 (0 credit) [Coordinator: Ms. Salina Pit ]
Note: Undergraduates with MUET band 3 are required to take the above course or pass  PBI 001

EEC0030 Effective Communication Skills (0 credit) [Coordinator: Mr. Ahmed Shamsul Bahri] - (No Longer Offered)
Note: Undergraduates with MUET bands 1-2 are eligible to take the above course.

GENERIC COURSES

The following are English generic courses (2 credits) offered by Centre for Language Studies. Undergraduates with MUET bands 4-6 and those who have passed PBI 0021 Preparatory English 2, or PRI 1013 English 1 and PRI 1023 English 2 (both are Pre-University Foundation Studies' English courses) are required to take two (2) of the available courses.

  • PBI 1032 Academic Reading and Writing [Coordinator: Assoc Prof Dr Souba Rethinasamy]
  • PBI 1052 English in the Media  [Coordinator: Mdm Radina Deli]
  • PBI 1062 English for Self Expression [Coordinator: Mr Faidz Felani Majeri]
