About us

UNIMAS Clinic is located at Lower Ground Floor, Student Affairs and Alumni

Building in West Campus. This unit provides medical and healthcare services to

all UNIMAS staff and students. Currently, the clinic is managed by 4 doctors,

5 nurses, 2 pharmacists, one physiotherapist and 7 experienced support staff.

The clinic provides outpatient treatments to UNIMAS students, staff and their family members

(qualified family member only). Apart from that, part-time staff

(excluding their family member) is also eligible for the service.

For any treatment outside the allocated medical treatment scheme,

the patient has to obtain the University’s approval beforehand.

 

Objectives

  • · To   provide outpatient treatments for UNIMAS students and staff
  • · To diagnose and treat illnesses
  • · To prevent and control contagious diseases within the campus and among UNIMAS students and staff
  • · To increase awareness on health issues through Health Education

Operating hours

The operating hours of UNIMAS Clinic are divided into 2 sessions, which are during academic session

and during semester/mid-semester break.

Services Provided

1. Medical Services

  • · Outpatient treatments for adults and children
  • · Follow-up treatments for chronic diseases
  • · Accident and emergency treatments
  • · Case references to UNIMAS’ specialists and Sarawak General Hospitalspecialists (if required)
  • · Antenatal check-ups for pregnancy
  • · Basic medical lab diagnostic tests (blood test, urine test, etc)
  • · Pharmacy
  • · Observation room

2. Public Medical Services

  • · Individual counseling and medical counsel during treatment
  • · Displays of related health pamphlets and posters at the clinic’s Health Corner
  • · Health-related lectures/talks/programs

3Emergency Treatments

  • · Injuries caused by accident
  • · Breathing difficulties, such as asthma attack, panic attack, etc
  • · Extreme pain, such as stomach-ache, headache, etc
  • · Loss of consciousness caused by fainting, epileptic fit, etc
  • · Bleeding due to any possible causes

In case of emergency, please contact the clinic staff at 581611/1604/1601/1606, or college staff,

fellows or any nearby faculties, and transportation department at 582311/582309/582314.
