This course aims to introduce the relationship between cognition and design. General descriptions of design and development processes will be discussed, along with the designers' perspectives towards both processes. The formal and informal cognitive approach will also be discussed from the aspects of design guidelines and techniques. The approach of designs and products usability in the aspects of social and technical will be explained, with the emphasis on the needs of human factors in the processes of design and development. The latest models in ergonomics design will also be discussed by case studies.

(Kursus ini bertujuan memperkenalkan hubungan antara kognisi dan rekabentuk.  Deskripsi secara am mengenai proses rekabentuk dan pembangunan dipertimbangkan berserta dengan pandangan perekabentuk tentang kedua-dua proses tersebut. Pendekatan kognitif formal dan tidak formal, dari segi garis panduan dan teknik rekabentuk turut dibincangkan. Pendekatan dari segi kebolehgunaan sesuatu produk dan rekabentuk dari segi sosial dan teknikal akan diterangkan dengan menekankan kepada keperluan untuk  menerapkan faktor manusia di dalam proses rekabentuk dan pembangunan. Model-model terkini dalam rekabentuk ergonomik akan dibincangkan berserta dengan kajian kes.)
