This course covers the theory and application of computational techniques for predicting fluid flow and heat and mass transfer in industrial plant and equipment. This course will complement the Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Numerical Methods courses. Lectures are given on the main elements of methodology, including the governing differential equations and numerical methods for solving them. This course also discusses the nature of CFD techniques, such as the underlying differential equations, discretisation techniques, numerical solution algorithms and related factors controlling accuracy and stability in understanding the thermo fluids phenomena.
