SYNOPSIS

This course introduces basic concepts and techniques in digital image processing: image acquisition and display using digital devices, properties of human visual perception, sampling and quantization, sampling rate conversion, contrast enhancement, two-dimensional Fourier transforms, linear and nonlinear filtering, morphological operations, noise removal, image deblurring, edge detection, image registration and geometric transformation, and image compression (including the JPEG standard). Students will learn to implement some image processing algorithms on computers using C-programming or MATLAB

(Kursus ini memperkenalkan konsep-konsep asas dan teknik dalam pemprosesan imej digital: pengambilalihan imej dan paparan menggunakan peranti-peranti yang digital, persepsi penglihatan manusia, pensampelan dan pengkuantuman, penukaran kadar pensampelan, peneguhan kontras, dua dimensi Fourier Transform, penapisan linear dan tak linear, operasi-operasi mofologikal, penyingkiran bunyi, imej pensamaran, pengesanan tepi imej, pendaftaran imej dan transformasi geometri, dan mampatan imej (termasuk standard JPEG). Pelajar-pelajar akan belajar untuk melaksanakan pemprosesan imej algoritma pada komputer menggunakan Pengaturcaraan C atau MATLAB)
