SYNOPSIS

The block deals with two essential systems of the Phase 1 curriculum each will run for 9 weeks. In renal part, emphasis will be on the developmental anatomy of genitourinary tract, renal functions, lower urinary tract and renal pathology, while there productive part of the MDP 20408 will encompass the study of male and female reproductive system, human sexuality,fertilization, formation and functions of placenta, embryological development, physiology and pathology of male and female reproductive organs, highlighting some common benign and malignant tumors. With the clinical exposure and learning based on the PBL approach, students will be able to correlate more effectively the clinical sciences with basic sciences.Lectures, weekly PBL sessions, practical and clinical studies will form the basis of teaching and learning methods. However, PBL sessions remain the main source for synthesis, analysis, and application of the knowledge. There will be periodic assessment in the form of Quiz including Practical Quiz followed by the end of block examination. Students' performance recorded during PBL sessions will also contribute to the continuous assessment.

(Blok ini merangkumi 2 sistem yang penting dalam kurikulum fasa 1 dan dijalankan dalam jangkamasa 9 minggu. Dalam bahagian renal, penekanan untuk memahami pembentukan anatomi trek genitourinari, fungsi ginjal, patologi trek bawahan urinari dan ginjal, sementara bahagian reproduktif akan menumpukan pemahamanan sistem reproduktif lelaki dan perempuan, seksualiti manusia, kesuburan, fungsi dan pembentukan plasenta, pembentukan embrio, patologi sistem repoduktif, serta penumpuan keatas tumor benigna (benign) dan malignan akan diterapkan juga. Dengan pendedahan klinikal serta pembelajaran mengguna kaedah PBL, pelajar akan dapat mengaitkan sains klinikal dan sains asas dengan lebih berkesan.Kuliah, sesi PBL mingguan, praktikal dan pengajian klinikal adalah kaedah-kaedah asas pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

Bagaimanapun, sesi PBL merupakan kaedah utama untukmempraktikkan sintesis, analisis dan aplikasi pengetahuan.Penilaian berkala merangkumi kuiz termasuk kuiz praktikal danpeperiksaan akhir blok. Penilaian prestasi pelajar dalam sesiPBL juga diambil kira dalam penilaian berterusan.)
