COURSE TITLE

ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY 1 (Kimia Analisis 1)

COURSE CODE

STK1213

SYNOPSIS

This course is intended to provide basic skills in quantitative chemical analysis. Students will first learn how to determine the concentration of solution, collect and prepare samples, collect and manipulate data, perform statistical analysis as well as evaluate their results. A review of fundamental equilibrium concepts and gravimetry analysis will be presented. The different types of volumetric titrations, including acid-base, redox, EDTA, and precipitation titrations will also be introduced. The fundamental principles of separation techniques such as distillation, solvent extractions, precipitation and chromatography will also be discussed.
