SYNOPSIS

The inorganic chemistry course is designed to supplement and strengthen understanding of coordination and organometallic chemistry of the transition elements. The valence bond, crystal and ligand fields, and molecular orbital theories will be discussed in considerable detail. These theories are used to explain the stability and liability of metal complexes. Some transition metal complexes reaction mechanisms will be included. The subject consists of the synthesis and characterization of transition metal and organometallic compounds will be discussed.

(Kimia bukan organik ini direka bentuk untuk memberikan dan menguatkan kefahaman terhadap kimia koordinatan dan organologam bagi unsur-unsur peralihan. Ikatan valensi dan medan ligan, dan teori orbital molekul akan dibincangkan secara mendalam. Teori-teori ini akan digunakan untuk menerangkan kestabilan dan liabiliti kompleks logam. Beberapa mekanisma tindak balas logam peralihan akan juga dibincangkan. Topik yang mengandungi sintesis dan pencirian logam peralihan dan sebatian organologam akan turut dibincangkan.)
